比較 — one of the + 最上級 + 複数名詞

C. よくある間違い — 単数名詞・複数動詞の2つの落とし穴
この構文でよくする間違いは2つで、1つ目は後ろに単数名詞を使う間違い、2つ目は複数名詞に引きずられて動詞を複数形にする間違いです。複数名詞と単数動詞が一緒に来るという2つのルールをセットで覚えれば解決します。

- 1one of the のあとには必ず最上級 + 複数名詞が来ます。(例: one of the best students, X: one of the best student)
- 2文の本当の主語は one なので、動詞は常に単数形です。(例: One of the students is late.)
- 3最上級が -est 形式でも most ~ 形式でも、この構文の語順は同じです。(例: one of the tallest buildings, one of the most famous singers)
- 4日本語では「〜のうちの1つ」と自然に訳しますが、英語は必ず複数名詞で「複数の存在」を明示します。(例: one of my hobbies)
