La forma passiva - frase negativa e interrogativa

Nella forma passiva la negazione e l'interrogazione sono affidate entrambe al verbo be: la frase negativa si fa mettendo not dopo il verbo be, quella interrogativa spostando il verbo be davanti al soggetto.

Spiegazione

Nella forma passiva la negazione e l'interrogazione sono affidate entrambe al verbo be: la frase negativa si fa mettendo not dopo il verbo be, quella interrogativa spostando il verbo be davanti al soggetto.

A.  Frase negativa passiva — verbo be + not + p.p.

La formula è be + not + p.p..

TempoFormaEsempio
presenteis/are not + p.p.The room isn't cleaned on Sundays.
passatowas/were not + p.p.The letter wasn't sent yesterday.
modalemodale not + be + p.p.It can't be done.
perfettohave/has/had not been + p.p.The report hasn't been finished.
  • English isn't spoken everywhere in the world. (Non dappertutto nel mondo si parla inglese.)
  • The keys weren't found in the office.
  • This problem can't be solved easily. (Questo problema non si può risolvere facilmente.)
  • The bridge hasn't been repaired yet. (Il ponte non è ancora stato riparato.)

B.  Interrogativa passiva — be davanti al soggetto

La formula è be + soggetto + p.p. ...?.

TempoFormaEsempio
presenteIs/Are + soggetto + p.p. ...?Is English spoken here?
passatoWas/Were + soggetto + p.p. ...?Was the door locked?
modalemodale + soggetto + be + p.p. ...?Can it be finished today?

  • Can the report be finished by Friday? (La relazione può essere finita entro venerdì?)
  • Has your car been repaired yet? (La tua macchina è già stata riparata?)

C.  Interrogativa passiva — Why / When / Where / How

InterrogativoFormaEsempio
whenWhen + be + soggetto + p.p. ...?When was the house built?
whereWhere + be + soggetto + p.p. ...?Where was the meeting held?
whyWhy + be + soggetto + p.p. ...?Why was she invited?

Punti chiave

  1. 1La frase negativa passiva si costruisce mettendo not dopo il verbo be, nella forma be + not + participio passato. (esempio: The letter wasn't sent yesterday.)
  2. 2La frase interrogativa passiva si costruisce portando il verbo be davanti al soggetto, con l'ordine be + soggetto + participio passato. (esempio: Was the door locked?)
(esempio: Can it be finished? / It hasn't been finished.)
(esempio: When was the house built?)
