疑問詞 when、where、how、why
when 問時間，where 問場所，how 問方法·狀態，why 問理由，後面的語序和其他疑問詞遵守相同的規則(be 動詞就是 be + 主詞，一般動詞就是 do/does/did + 主詞 + 原形動詞)。

A. when — 時間 / where — 場所
when 問的是幾點·什麼時候·哪個時間點這類時間，where 問的是在哪裡·去哪裡·位於哪裡這類場所。回答要用時間·場所的說法(at 3, in Seoul, on Monday 等)講得具體一點。

B. how — 方法·狀態·程度
how 不只問方法(怎麼做)，也用來問狀態·近況(怎麼樣·如何)，後面再接形容詞·副詞連程度都能問，是萬能的疑問詞 (程度的延伸請見 U24)。

- How do you spell your name? (你的名字怎麼拼？)

C. why — 理由 / 用 Because 回答
why 是問理由的疑問詞，回答大多會用 Because + 說明理由的句子接下去。Why ~? — Because ~. 這一組是基本形式，會話中也常常省略 Because，只簡短說出理由。

- Why do you study English? — Because I want to travel. (你為什麼學英文？因為我想去旅行。)
- Why not try the new cafe? (要不要去那家新開的咖啡廳看看？)
重點整理

- 2how 不只用在方法上，連問候·感想都能問，是用途很廣的萬能疑問詞。(例: How was the movie?)
- 3Why ~? 用 Because ~. 回答，Why not ~? 則接提議·邀請的回應，這樣的搭配是會話裡的慣用形式。(例: Why not take a break?)
- 4when·where·how·why 後面的語序一律是「be 動詞就 be + 主詞，一般動詞就 do/does/did + 主詞 + 原形動詞」。
- 5中文的「為什麼？因為~」這種回答，在英文裡可以直接換成 Because ~ 的形式，掌握這個對應會讓回答變得容易許多。
