關係詞 — 疑問詞與關係詞的區別
who、which、what、when、where、why、how 的形態雖然一樣，但是前面沒有先行詞(被修飾的名詞)就是疑問詞，有的話就是關係詞。疑問詞引導名詞子句，關係詞則引導修飾前面名詞的形容詞子句。

A. 疑問詞 — 間接問句裡的名詞子句
疑問詞引導的子句前面沒有先行詞，在句子裡擔任主詞、受詞、補語的位置，扮演名詞子句的角色。可以解釋成「…是不是…、…是怎麼…」，常常接在 know、wonder、ask、tell 這類動詞後面。請記成沒有先行詞 = 疑問詞。

- Do you remember how we solved it? (你還記得我們當時是怎麼解開的嗎？)
B. 關係代名詞 — 修飾先行詞的形容詞子句
關係代名詞引導的子句前面有人或事物的先行詞，扮演從後面修飾那個名詞的形容詞子句角色。可以解釋成「…的(先行詞)」，人用 who，事物用 which，兩者都可以用 that。請用有先行詞 = 關係詞 來判斷。

- I know the man who lives next door. (我認識住在隔壁的那個男人。)

- I met the woman who wrote this novel. (我見到了寫這本小說的女士。)
C. 關係副詞 — 修飾時間、地點、理由、方法的先行詞
when、where、why、how 引導的形容詞子句如果修飾前面表示時間、地點、理由、方法的名詞，那就是關係副詞。後面接的是完整的子句，可以解釋成「…的(時候、地方、理由、方法)」。

- This is the house where I grew up. (這就是我長大的房子。)
- Tell me the reason why you were late. (告訴我你遲到的理由。)
- I know how she solved the problem. (我知道她是怎麼解開那個問題的。)
重點整理
- 1前面有先行詞(被修飾的名詞)就是關係詞，沒有就是疑問詞，這個判別法最可靠。(例: I know where she lives. — 疑問詞 / This is the town where she lives. — 關係詞)
- 2疑問詞引導的是名詞子句，在句子裡放在主詞、受詞、補語的位置；關係詞引導的是形容詞子句，用來修飾前面的名詞，請記住這個作用上的差異。
- 3關係副詞 how 不和先行詞 the way 一起用，the way 或 how 只能擇一，請把這個慣用法學起來。(例: how she did it / the way she did it)
- 4間接問句裡的疑問詞子句，語序是「疑問詞 + 主詞 + 動詞」，跟著直述句的語序走，不能用直接問句的倒裝語序，這裡是最容易出錯的地方。(X: I don't know who is he.)
- 5同樣一個字也會隨著上下文而在疑問詞和關係詞之間換角色，所以請養成先確認前面有沒有先行詞、子句扮演什麼角色的習慣。
