A.  Predicativo nominale o aggettivale — resta dov'è

Forma attivaForma passiva
Everyone called him a genius. He was called a genius.
The news made her happy. She was made happy.

  • Anna was chosen team leader for this project.
  • The soup was found delicious by everyone.

B.  Predicativo con to o participio — forma invariata

He told me to leave.I was told to leave.
They asked her to wait. She was asked to wait.

  • Loud music was heard coming from the room.

C.  Causativi e percezione — senza to → con to

I verbi causativi come make·have·let e i verbi di percezione come see·hear·watch·feel all'attivo reggono come predicativo l'infinito senza to, ma volgendo la frase al passivo quell'infinito prende to e diventa infinito con to. La formula è causativi e percezione: senza to → con to.

Punti chiave

(esempio: He was called a genius. / She was made happy.)
  2. 2Anche il predicativo all'infinito con to, al participio presente o al participio passato passa al passivo conservando la forma che aveva nell'attivo. (esempio: I was told to leave. / Anna was seen crying.)
  3. 3Dopo i verbi causativi (make·have) e di percezione (see·hear·watch) l'infinito senza to dell'attivo diventa infinito con to nel passivo. (esempio: She made me go → I was made to go.)
  4. 4let non si usa al passivo e viene sostituito da be allowed to. (esempio: They let him go. → He was allowed to go.)
  5. 5Nel passivo dei verbi di percezione prende to solo l'infinito senza to, mentre il participio in -ing resta in -ing. (esempio: She was seen to enter. / She was seen entering.)
