Verbo introductorMatizEjemplo
suggestpropuesta general (el más frecuente)suggested that we go
proposepropuesta oficial, formalproposed that we meet
recommendrecomendación (cercano al consejo)recommended that we start
  • He said, "Let's start now." → He suggested (that) we (should) start then. (Propuso que empezáramos en ese momento.)
  • She said, "Let's meet on Friday." → She proposed (that) we (should) meet on Friday. (Propuso que nos viéramos el viernes.)
  • Kevin said, "Let's try a new plan." → Kevin suggested (that) we (should) try a new plan. (Kevin propuso que probáramos un plan nuevo.)
  • Anna said, "Let's stay a bit longer." → Anna suggested (that) we (should) stay a bit longer.

B.  suggest + that + sujeto + (should) + forma base

Cuando detrás de suggest va una oración con that, después del sujeto se pone (should) + la forma base del verbo. Let's ~ → suggest (that) S + (should) + forma base.

FormaEjemplo
suggest that S should + forma baseHe suggested that we should go.
suggest that S + forma base (should omitido)He suggested that we go.
suggest that S should not + forma baseShe suggested that we should not wait.
suggest that S not + forma baseShe suggested that we not wait.
  • He said, "Let's book the flight early." → He suggested that we (should) book the flight early. (Propuso que reserváramos el vuelo pronto.)
  • She said, "Let's call him tomorrow." → She suggested that we (should) call him the next day. (Propuso que lo llamáramos al día siguiente.)
  • Tom said, "Let's not tell anyone." → Tom suggested that we (should) not tell anyone.
  • Anna said, "Let's leave early." → Anna suggested that we (should) leave early.

(ej.: He suggested (that) we go now.)
  2. 2En suggest + oración con that se escribe (should) + forma base después del sujeto, y aunque se omita should el verbo conserva la forma base. (ej.: He suggested that we (should) go.)
(ej.: He suggested going now.)
(X: He suggested to go / O: He suggested going / suggested (that) we go)
  5. 5Let's not ~ se traslada como suggest that S (should) not + forma base, y not va detrás de (should). (ej.: He suggested that we not waste time.)
