Estilo indirecto - oraciones declarativas
| Paso | Regla | Ejemplo |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Borrar comillas y coma | He said, "..." → He said |
| 2 | Añadir la conjunción that (omisible) | He said that ... |
| 3 | Ajustar la persona (I → he/she) | "I am ..." → he was ... |
| 4 | Mover el tiempo un paso atrás | am → was, will → would |
| 5 | Ajustar adverbios de tiempo y lugar | now → then, here → there |
- He said, "I am tired." → He said that he was tired. (Dijo que estaba cansado.)
- She said, "I have finished it." → She said that she had finished it. (Dijo que lo había terminado.)
- Kevin said, "I will help you." → Kevin said that he would help me.
| Estilo directo | Estilo indirecto |
|---|---|
| am / is / are | was / were |
| Presente (verbo ordinario) | pasado (works → worked) |
| Pasado | pasado perfecto (worked → had worked) |
| Presente perfecto (have p.p.) | pasado perfecto (had p.p.) |
| will | would |
| can | could |
| may | might |
| must | had to |
- She said, "I am a teacher." → She said she was a teacher. (Dijo que era profesora.)
- He said, "I work late." → He said he worked late. (Dijo que trabajaba hasta tarde.)
- Anna said, "I have seen that movie." → Anna said she had seen that movie. (Anna dijo que había visto esa película.)
- Tom said, "I can swim." → Tom said he could swim.
| Estilo directo | Estilo indirecto |
|---|---|
| now | then |
| today | that day |
| tonight | that night |
| tomorrow | the next day / the following day |
| yesterday | the day before / the previous day |
| here | there |
| this / these | that / those |
| ago | before |
- He said, "I am busy now." → He said he was busy then. (Dijo que en ese momento estaba ocupado.)
- She said, "I saw him yesterday." → She said she had seen him the day before.
- Tom said, "I will come tomorrow." → Tom said he would come the next day. (Tom dijo que vendría al día siguiente.)
- Anna said, "I like this book." → Anna said she liked that book. (Anna dijo que le gustaba ese libro.)
Ideas clave
(Ej.: He said, "I am busy." → He said that he was busy.)
- 2Cuando el verbo introductor está en pasado, el presente de la cita pasa a pasado, el pasado a pasado perfecto, y will·can·may pasan a would·could·might. (Ej.: "I will come." → he would come.)
(Ej.: He said (that) he was tired.)
- 4Como el punto de referencia de «ahora y aquí» pasa del hablante a quien transmite, se ajustan también now → then, here → there, today → that day, tomorrow → the next day, yesterday → the day before.
(Ej.: He said the earth is round.)
