Il quarto schema (S + V + IO + DO)

Il quarto schema segue l'ordine «soggetto + verbo dativo + oggetto indiretto (persona) + oggetto diretto (cosa)» e significa «fare qualcosa a qualcuno».

Spiegazione

Il quarto schema segue l'ordine «soggetto + verbo dativo + oggetto indiretto (persona) + oggetto diretto (cosa)» e significa «fare qualcosa a qualcuno».

La formula è S + V + persona (IO) + cosa (DO).

  • He showed me his new watch.
  • I'll send you the file tonight. (Ti mando il file stasera.)
  • Can you pass me the salt? (Mi passi il sale, per favore?)

B.  Verbi dativi tipici

  • I bought my sister a new bag. (Ho comprato a mia sorella una borsa nuova.)
  • He asked me a difficult question. (Lui mi ha fatto una domanda difficile.)

C.  Da 4 elementi a 3 elementi — to / for / of

Spostando l'oggetto indiretto in fondo e premettendogli una preposizione si ottiene il terzo schema, e allora si sceglie fra to / for / of secondo il verbo. La formula è S + V + DO + to/for/of + IO.

Punti chiave

(esempio: I gave her a book.)
  2. 2Passando dal quarto schema al terzo, i verbi del gruppo give·send·show·tell·teach vogliono to. (esempio: I sent an email to him.)
  3. 3I verbi che indicano «fare, comprare, procurare per qualcuno», come buy·make·get·cook·find, vogliono for. (esempio: Mom made a cake for us.)
(esempio: He asked a favor of me.)
(esempio: Please pass me the salt.)
