Comparación - the comparativo, the comparativo

A.  Forma básica — The + comparativo ~, the + comparativo …

segunda (resultado)the + comparativo + sujeto + verbothe fatter you get.

  • The more I study, the more I understand. (Cuanto más estudio, más entiendo.)
  • The higher you climb, the colder it gets.

C.  Expresiones frecuentes — forma breve y frases fijas

(Ej.: The more you practice, the better you get.)
(Ej.: The more difficult the exam, the harder we study.)
  3. 3Las dos oraciones deben unirse con una coma (,), sin añadir la conjunción coordinante and ni las subordinantes as o when. (Ej.: The older I get, the wiser I become. / X: The older I get and the wiser I become.)
  4. 4En la conversación son frecuentes las frases fijas breves, sin sujeto ni verbo, como the sooner, the better o the more, the merrier. (Ej.: The sooner, the better.)
(Ej.: cuanto más aprendes, más interesante resulta → The more you learn, the more interesting it becomes.)
