比較 — the 比較級, the 比較級
the + 比較級 , the + 比較級 … 是「越就越…」的意思，前面子句的程度變化帶動後面子句的程度變化，是一種相關比較句型。每個子句的比較級一定要拉到句子最前面，兩個子句前面都要加 the。

A. 基本形式 — The + 比較級 ~, the + 比較級 …
把兩個子句的比較級各自連同 the 拉到句子最前面，再用逗號(,)把兩個子句連起來，這就是這個句型的基本形式。前面的子句像條件，後面的子句像結果。The + 比較級，the + 比較級 = 越~越… 是本單元的核心公式。

B. 語序 — 把比較級拉到句首
一定要把原本在後面的比較級部分拉到各個子句的最前面，這個句型才能成立。不遵守這個語序移動，句子就會變成完全不同的意思，或是變得很不自然。

C. 常用的慣用說法 — 簡短形式與固定說法
在會話中也會省略主詞和動詞，只用兩個 the + 比較級講得非常簡短，而像 the sooner, the better 這類慣用語則是整組固定下來的。意思一樣，但聽起來強烈得多，也更有節奏感，這是它的特色。
