Il confronto - strutture comparative avanzate

Tra le strutture avanzate costruite sul comparativo ci sono locuzioni come the + comparativo the + comparativo, comparativo + and + comparativo, no more than / not so much A as B.

Spiegazione

Tra le strutture avanzate costruite sul comparativo ci sono locuzioni come the + comparativo the + comparativo, comparativo + and + comparativo, no more ~ than / not so much A as B. Ricorrono spesso nel parlato e nello scritto, quindi impararle in blocco allarga molto la capacità espressiva.

A.  the + comp. ~, the + comp.

B.  Comparativo + and + comparativo — sempre più ...

I comparativi formati con more si scrivono nella forma more and more + aggettivo/avverbio.

C.  no more ~ than / not so much A as B / know better than to

Le tre espressioni sono strutture comparative avanzate il cui senso non è letterale ma idiomatico. no more A than B è una negazione forte, «come non è B, così non è A»; not so much A as B è una ridefinizione, «più che A, è B»; know better than to V è un giudizio, «non è così sciocco da ~».
